Passionate About Something That Has Nothing To Do With Me

TED is one of my favourite subscriptions. Those of you who follow me in Reader or Buzz, know how much I love TED videos. This one is the one I have embedded today. (i dont think it shows up in Reader)

A couple days ago, I mentioned some of my thoughts on the thing we, in western societies, call our 'education system'. I'm pretty passionate about the subject, though it really has little to do with me as I don't work with children, let alone have any. Either way, I want to be on this bandwagon and help change the way we perceive "educating". It should be more of a cultivation of God-given skills and abilities. I bet we'd be a more productive and less segregated society. Every time I hear about a child being put on "ADD" or "ADHD" medicine because of behavioural issues, I've thought that instead of changing the genetic makeup of a child, we should change their options. This one-dimensional academic environment we have created, just isn't the way we were intended to learn grow. hmmm...
