"long lay the world in sin and error pining, till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth"
I just love a good lyric; when from the depths of my heart, my soul can sing something so well-articulated to my God and give Him due glory! So often, "Christmas music" becomes background noise during this festive season. However, my brain has ruined many a carols by over-analyzing the lyrics (how about the date-rape song, AKA "Baby, It's Cold Outside"?... and don't get me started on "tail as big as a kite" - "big"? how 'bout "long"?!) This year, my brain worked for me. YAY! This year, I'm appreciating "O, Holy Night". And I am so glad that my soul does now feel the worth Christ gives it. Relish in that truth as you sing or hear, if you don't sing this anthem.
The perfection of Christ has given our souls worth to a holy God!
